We understand that there are many opportunities available to you and we are please to offer you a wide variety of clinical and professional development topics, providing contact and pharmacology hours, as well as the opportunity to network with your peers. The NPA Conference Committee strives to offer you a pleasant and rewarding continuing education and professional development experience while attending our annual conference.

Product Theater Lunch - Thursday, October 18 - 12:15 pm - 1:30 pm

This is a NON-CME sponsored lunch, there is no additional fee to attend this lunch. The title is "Communicating with Patients about OTC Analgesic Recommendations"

Over-the-counter (OTC) analgesics play a key role in helping patients manage their pain. These medications are generally considered safe when used as directed. However, there are important considerations that healthcare providers (HCPs) should keep in mind when recommending OTC analgesics and discussing their use with patients.

For this program, we are pleased to be joined by Susan Pendergrass, MSN, MEd, FNP-BC, who will provide an overview of the role of OTC analgesics in a pain management plan, along with strategies to effectively communicate OTC analgesic recommendations to patients. During her engaging, case-based presentation, she will highlight aspects of a patient’s medical history to consider when discussing OTC analgesic recommendations, as well as provide examples of unbranded educational materials that can help facilitate these discussions.

You can sign up for this lunch when you register on-line. If you registered by mail and wish to attend please contact The NPA office at 518-348-0719 or email info@TheNPA.org. Seating for this lunch is limited to 150 seats, first come, first served.
