The Education shall be responsible for (1) promoting and facilitating educational activities that advance and develop the role of the nurse practitioner, and promote research of interest to nurse practitioners; (2) provide clinical expertise and recommend clinical content and speakers surrounding the planning of an annual conference and clinical symposia, as well as other periodic educational programs and related activities to meet the professional needs of nurse practitioners in New York State and the surrounding regions; (3) promoting professional ethics and clinical standards; (4) awarding contact hours in accordance with Board policy and overseeing all aspects of quality assurance and evaluation pertaining to the Association's continuing education programs; (5) assisting the Association in obtaining and/or maintaining accreditation status within applicable external accrediting bodies as necessary; and, (6) serving as a clinical editorial advisory body to develop and implement Board approved policy and processes for peer reviewed clinical content published by the Association.

Governmental Affairs and Practice Issues Committee
The Governmental Affairs and Practice Issues Committee shall be responsible for monitoring State and Federal legislative, regulatory and policy issues that impact on nurse practitioner practice and the delivery of healthcare in New York State. Subject to and consistent with the directions of the Board, the committee shall coordinate the Corporation's advocacy activities.

The Membership Committee shall be responsible for promoting membership in the Association at the State and Region/Group levels, maintaining membership records and overseeing and coordinating the Association awards program. The Membership Committee shall also promote the role of the nurse practitioner to members of groups who are under represented in the nursing community and through outreach and education encourage their recruitment into advanced practice nursing. The Membership Committee shall also be charged with promoting electronic membership networking and communications which is uniformly applied statewide and guided by process protocols consistent with the mission of the Association.

The Nominating Committee shall assist the Chairperson in filling any Board and/or Committee vacancies subject to Board approval.
