The Nurse Practitioner Association Mentoring Program
This mentorship program is designed to provide support and guidance for newly graduated, new to practice, nurse practitioners (NP) transitioning into the NP practice role. This program is NOT associated with any behavioral or clinical evaluations for the participants.
The mentor-mentee relationship is formal, secure and confidential. The program is designed to facilitate growth, development and integration of the new NP into practice. This program is separate and distinct from the relationship the new NP has with his/her preceptor. A Preceptor is part of the NP’s clinical service and assists with the clinical skills needed to function clinically in their role. A Mentor is not part of the NP’s service and serves as a guide in the Mentee’s professional development.
